Charming Hotels Group History

The collection of boutique hotels Charming Hotels Madeira was born following an increase in the demand for hotels with a high standard of quality and services; hotels that would faithfully recreate the local history and heritage of Madeira.

The old Quintas of Madeira provided the perfect foundation to build upon this idea. The elegant Manor Houses had large extensions and gardens that could be refurbished to provide the standard of luxury required. A team of professionally trained staff would provide the attention to detail and highly personal service to make the difference.

The group started purchasing in 1998 with Quinta Perestrello, soon to be followed by Quinta do Estreito, Quinta do Monte and Quinta das Vistas.
